Freewill is the ability to choose. You have always had that God-given gift.
With that gift comes the responsibility of making choices that are right or wrong based on what you know to be right or wrong.

look at the word. Free will, your will is free. It is both independence and adherence, i say that because nobody is sure how the mind works. Genes and environment have a lot to do with it, as does eletrical impulses in the brain. Does you mind control these things or do they control your mind?

If it is the ability to choose only, then computers have free will as well, because they make IF-THEN-ELSE choices all the time.
Free will is an illusion, nothing more. It does not exist.

We are all born with free wills and our minds are being programmed continuously until free wills do not look free anymore. To the intellectuals, free wills are still stronger and less contaminated.
Don't let too many of those if-then-else's get hard wired to unconditional paths.
