The word is Ouija - it is derived from the French and German word for "yes".
It is a board used for divination, calling upon spirits to manifest and answer simple questions by pointing to the answers on a board. It is a dangerous invitation to open oneself up to demonic deception and oppression.
I have been told, though I could not prove it, that the Movie "The Exorcist" was based on an actual case history, although I think it was a young boy in reality, who came into the state of demonic oppression that was dramatized in the movie (doubtless with some exaggeration), through the usage of a Ouija board.

Ouija boards can be very dangerous and bad things can happen depending on how serious you are when you play. When I was 13 or 14 my friends and I played but did not take it seriously so nothing happened, however I will never play it again. I have a friend who played it continuously for a few months and made contact with the same spirit each time. One time when she failed to play the spirit knew.and questioned her. She never played it again.
I know this sounds like BS but it's not. The Ouija board is of the occult and once you dabble in this it could lead you deeper into the "dark." Do not play it!!

We had something similar happen when we bought our first house. The husband of the old woman we purchased it from had died there after living there for 50 odd years. They were the original owners of the house. Being Christians, we thought nothing of it. The man was Catholic... he should have moved on right? At any rate, when we first moved in we had the house blessed by our friendly neighbor who happened to be a deacon. It did no good. None at all. Maybe we should have called in a priest? Well apparently the old man didn't move on, and worse, he wasn't thrilled that his wife was gone and we were in the house. The more we renovated the house, the more active he became. I was told that he did most of the work on the house himself. Guess he didn't want us changing things. I'm glad I never met him when he was alive. He was mean spirited! He'd show up in the doorway of the only upstairs room just as one of us would reach the top stair. I know he did it just to startle us. I nearly took a tumble the one time it happened to me. We also had things moved, Pictures got knocked off walls. We had to remove all the batteries from my baby's electronic toys because the spirit would constantly set them off. Even switching them off did no good. he'd just turn them back on and start messing with us again. One time we found the bathroom sink overflowing with hot water. The sink had twist knobs, There was no way they could have turned themselves or that the sink could have gotten plugged without help. The horrific thing about this incident it was that it wasn't the water running that got our attention. No, it was the cries of our 9 month old who had crawled into the room and into the hot water that alerted us. I stayed up late one night watching television, and heard a loud bang back in the kitchen. I went to check and the garbage can lid was half-way across the room. I put it back, Then a little while later, "BANG", The lid was off the can again. I REALLY freaked out that time. We ended up moving after living (suffering) in that house for two years. I was never so happy to leave any place, That was 7 years ago, and we've had nothing happen like that since. Our good friends still live next door, so we visit the neighborhood occasionally. We've never gotten to know anyone else who has owned that house, but what I can tell you is that it has changed hands several times since we moved. It currently sits empty. The last owners walked out and it's up for foreclosure. I have no idea if it's related to what we experience or the bad economy... My suggestion, if prayers and the intervention of a priest/pastor don't help, then move before it affects your child. You don't want these things trying to communicate with her. The one in your house might be harmless, or it might not. To have died in such a horrible way... it had to have left a negative imprint behind. I don't know how you can stand to let your child sleep in that room, especially knowing that she isn't going to be left alone in there.

OuiJa is both French and German for 'Yes' so technically they are a Yes Yes board.
They are used as a form of divination, not unlike a Gypsy reading tea leaves, or a crystal ball, or Tarot Cards, nothing more.
Give a OuiJa board to a group of senior citizens and not much will have, give one to a group or pubescent teens and the psychosis energy generated by those raging hormones will have things leaping around.
All the board does is gives the subconscious a focal point, how your psyche deals with that is dependent on the person/s involved.
Most emotional psychotics dwell on things that go wrong, hence the predominance of 'evil' entering, very little dwells on 'sweetness and light' - so from that you can work it out for yourself.

It's spelled 'Ouija.' 'Weegie' is just how it's pronounced.
Yes, it can conjure up some serious spirits, but only if you believe it. If you look at it as a silly toy, then that is what it will be for you. If you really try to do a bit of summoning, it may work for you. It's all in your intent!
It has nothing to do with Satan, at any rate. Deceased people's spirits are not the same thing as Satan. And the point of the board is to summon the said spirits, not Satan.

Ouija boards are just a tool, like tarot cards, or seances that people use who are interested in the occult. It was released as a kid's board game decades ago, so some thought it was harmless.
Since you asked Christians specifically, we are instructed not to involve ourselves with things of the occult in scripture. Again, as a Christian, the real or imagined results of such things is attributed to Satan, the great deceiver.
Hope this helps a little.

The OUIJA board is a real portal for the demonic. There is nothing good about it, and nothing good will ever come from its use. This is a tool of Satan to get unsuspecting people to open a gate so he can release some of his minions from exile into our realm. People who say it is just a harmful toy, or it is controlled by magnets are obviously to blind to see what is actually happening.

Dear TO, The word is actually spelled Ouija, and it is used as a means to communicate with the dead, but the truth of the matter is that the contact is nto with the dead, but with what the bible alls, familliar spirits. The sprirts that are communicationg are of demonic origin, demonds are real, and this is the kind of stuff they love. Deception is thier greates gain, and they have been devouring people into the trap of demonic possesin for years. the Bible says, the devil is a roaring lion seeking of whom he may devour, and these Ouija Boards are a perfect oportunity. thats why God forbids the act of sorcery and divination, its not because God is a control freak, but because he knows whats best for us.
God Bless

Ouija boards are used to divine or commune with the dead. It is said that it is a way for lower vibrational spirits or evil spirits to communicate with people. It has been the subject of many speakers and psychics who say to avoid it. When I was young we used one, and I thought it was stupid. I have little faith in it, but if it is a portal for evil, why even chance it.

Ouija boards are used for channeling the spirits of the dead, and have a somewhat false reputation for being bringing poltergeists and demons into our plane of existence. Most of the time, you use them to contact the deaced loved ones, and talk with them, never bring anything "bad" back with you, but there have been cases of the latter.
