I am 18 years old and I have had acne off and on since I was 15. The 100% truth is, acne is caused by hormones and heredity.
Let me tell you what I've done that has worked the best for me so far. Belive me I've used everything too.
The only thing you can do is wash your face twice a day (Try Johnson&Johnson Purpose face wash), use oil-free moisturizer(Try Cetaphil mixed with proactive lotion), and spot treatment before you go to bed (any salicylic acid 2% works fine) and try not to touch your face, and drink LOTS of water. I promise if you do this, your skin will improve dramatically , mine has. Every person is different though.
Hope I could help!

In this order:
1. Drink lots of water
2. Use a gentle face wash to remove dirt, oil, make up etc...(cetaphil)
3. Use a acne medicated face wash to treat acne. (Must contain at least 10% benzoyl peroxide)
4. Use a medicated dual action moisturizer (must contain 0.5 % salicylic acid)
or
Simply wash with cetaphil and try a prescription acne medicine called "Benza Clin"
Do not touch your face. Don't wear liquid make up if at all possible. Throw away those pads that come with your compact, and replace with new ones. When you use a powder, the pad you use contains caked in foundation that contains oils and bacteria. That might be the initial cause besides hormones. Do not use alcohol (Drys out your skin and can irritate it) Do not over exfoliate. Do not pick your face! Steam your face from time to time (In between the cetaphil daily cleanings) (To open up your pores, so they can breathe. Drink TONS of WATER! Good luck!

DON'T TOUCH/PICK AT THEM!!!! I used to have acne really bad, and I really stood out because I am Black and I had NEVER seen a black person with Acne the way I had it!!!! (u can laugh!!!!!)
But I used Neutrogena face cleanser in the blue bottle at night .... EVERY NIGHT. (Wal-Mart also has a brand that works just as good.) I put it on my face before I got in the shower and didn't rinse it off until right before I got out. I also used Sea Breeze. Alcohol will do the same, but it'll burn if there any open. And CUT BACK ON THE ACIDS. Meaning, if you drink a lot of sodas, STOP!!!

I agree with the girl who said wash your face with a gentle cleanser twice a day ( I would say non-medicated. I thought medicated would be better, but I think it made my sensitive skin worse. I just use Johnson's milk baby wash because it is so gentle), spot clear at night, drink lots of water, and don't touch your face. Also, a big contributor to acne is having dirty pillow cases and blankets. Make sure to switch to a newly washed pillow case every few days and also wash blankets that touch your face often, too. Drink lots of Water too. Water is God's natural remedy for so many ailments and washes away bacteria from our bodies. Don't wear too much make-up either...that just clogs your pores. Try going without makeup, even if you feel self conscious...that way you can splash your face with water in between classes, to help wash away new oil and bacteria. Eventually, your face will clear up, so you won't feel self conscious for long.
Hope this helps!

If you have oily skin, try using egg yolk as an ointment after washing your face with a gentle wash. Let the yolk dry on your face, and than wash it off. Moisturize only if you need to. It started working for me about a week into it. I do it in the morning and evening every day. Hope that helps!

Accutane also causes suicidal depression and horrific birth defects, not my first choice. A far as home remedies go, I have heard some success stories with apple cider vinegar. You can can drink two tbsp with a full glass of water and also aplly it sparingly to the face, it may burn, but at least try it.

many :
Tea Tree Oil,
Aloe Vera,
Zinc (Zinc is taken in the form of capsules. It helps to strengthen the human immune system and to repair the skin)
Vitamin A
( promotes healthy skin. )
Vitamin E
drink at least four pints of water every day; fresh fruit and leafy green vegetables ; Avoid touching your face all the time, keep your hair away from your face, and avoid picking at pimples.
Another important thing if you're prone to Acne is to avoid using heavy make-up – in fact, it is preferable to avoid make-up altogether. For an effective cure, stay as natural as possible.

I do not know what stage of acne you have. It is not only what you put on your face that will help you but what you put in your mouth that can hurt you. Try to drink plenty of water (not coke) good amount of fiber. Do not dry your face with your bath towel use paper towel instead I recommend my clients to use the bran Viva because it is soft like cotton, pat dry do not rub your face and do not use scrubs it can actually make acne worst and last but not least "KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF YOUR FACE"

none of those worked with me either. the only one that worked for me was natures cure. its a two step system you put on the cream and take a pill (chewable) and it worked!! i love it so much. you can buy it at walgreens for $19.95. TRUST ME ON THIS ONE. try it. you will see results in less than a week!! this is the best stuff ever. and i only use the cream before i go to bed instead of in the morning and before i go to bed but i still got such good results!
