just slowly allow both to come together and play with both, both can smell the anxiety you are showing relax a littlemore they will be fine we have cats and dogs here. the only time we ever had a real problem was when a rescue Bichon came to stay for a while she hated cats and attacked him and tore a piece of his coat right out, we explained this to the rescue people that we felt she was unpredictable as she has bitten the kids at least 10 times, they said she will be fine we will still rehome her.We wished her well but felt like we had been betrayed after we heard what the secretary had been saying to her little friends, we used to support the rescue with reasonable financial donations regularly We since stopped that, we thought both our family and our other animals deserved better.

I think if the cat chases the dog if you just give it a little more time it will be okay- they will more than likely make a game out of it! But be sure the cats nails are clipped or declaw him maybe- I don't have any cats anymore I use to though!

thats pretty common
did you know if you raised a kitten and a puppy together at the same age then the cat will always be in charge
so no matter what you do you can't force a dog to become friends with a cat

slowly introduce them and sit on the floor with them together. when your on the floor play with both of them, and talk to and praise them a lot. I had a yorkie and didnt have any problems - some dogs are natural cat chasers. I have a lhasa apso now and he chases the cats, but hes playing

mean cat. I have one yorkie that will sleep with the cat. 1 yorkie that could care less if the cat is there or not. the other 2 which are my smallest yorkies send the cat running.
make sure your cats claws are clipped or it is declawed.
you could try sitting one down on one side of you and the other on the other side.

Well, i have a yorkie, and he gets along fine with are neighbors cat. They actually are best friends and love to play. The best thing to do is just introduce them slowly and get them used to each other. If after about a month they dont get along, try to keep them seperate. It really depends on the dog and the cat, and wether their friendly or not

I have dished out dog food for my yorkie and the remainder left on the spoon entices the cat. Let dog and cat clean food off of opposite sides of the same spoon. It worked for me.

well, from experience, i have found that some dogs accept cats and some don't. kind of like there are dog people and cat people. some will 'tolerate' a cat, while others will not. good luck.
