The other day, someone at a store in our town read that a Methamphetamine lab had been found in an old farmhouse in the adjoining county and he asked me a rhetorical question, ''Why didn't we have a drug problem when you and I were growing up?''
I replied that I had a drug problem when I was young:
· I was drug to church on Sunday morning. I was drug to church for weddings and funerals.
·I was drug to family reunions and community socials no matter the weather.
· I was drug by my ears when I was disrespectful to adults.
I was also drug to the woodshed when I disobeyed my parents, told a lie, brought home a bad report card, did not speak with respect, spoke ill of the teacher or the preacher, or if I didn't put forth my best effort in everything that was asked of me.
. I was drug to the kitchen sink to have my mouth washed out with soap if I uttered a profane word.

· I was drug out to pull weeds in mom's garden and flower beds and weeds out of dad's bean fields.
· I was drug to the homes of family, friends, and neighbors to help out some poor soul who had no one to mow the yard, repair the clothesline, or chop some firewood; and, if my mother had ever known that I took a single dime as a tip for this kindness, she would have drug me back to the woodshed.
Those drugs are still in my veins; and they affect my behavior in everything I do, say, and think. They are stronger than cocaine, crack, or heroin; and, if today's children had this kind of drug problem, America would be a better place.

This is wonderful. If more parents were like this there would be a lot less problems in the world.

Wonderful play on words, wonderful. I believe as U do that the country would be better off if Parents of today would be Parents instead of not trying to hurt their feelings, or more worried about being their friends & not Parenting. Spank that but. Put that nose in the corner. Be a parent and teach discipline, respect, manors & do as told. I know that U see it too or this never would have been asked. I bet that you & Ur mother are friends but U respect & thank her for how U were raised. Yes Parents need to (can't use it in the same tense as u did) (I got it ) be a drag & drag them where they need to go. Drag them to Church. Be a drag & a Parent & stop worring about hurting their feelings. I love this qyestion cuddos to you. I Hope I gave ya something to think about cause I agree with U 100%.

America had this drug until the government took it away with the passing of the incorrigible child act. We owe all this to one Dr. Spock. He destroyed the very fiber of the american family. I think every mother and father should fight to get this drug back. We are the government It belongs to every citizen, not a bunch of elected officials.

Yeah, I agree, but did you know that Hitler was a meth addict? I used to use meth. I started because I wanted to lose weight. Then I discovered i didn't hurt while using it, I wasn't depressed, I liked myself alot more. Yes, it might have been a lie, but I was willing to take a lie. I was lucky enough to see from first hand what it does to ppl...I have a niece who has literally thrown her family away just to have a pipe of meth to smoke. But what I am trying to say is this:

Meth is cheap, easy to make, easy to get. It has effects that are anti-depressant, pain killer, appetite suppressant etc. WHY CAN NOT THE GOVERNMENT RESEARCH THIS DRUG AND BECAUSE IT IS A MAN MADE DRUG, CHANGE IT ON A MOLECULAR LEVEL AND REMOVE THE ADDICTIVE, PERSONALITY CHANGING PARTS AND MAKE USE OF THE GOOD PARTS???? Until then, I am just glad I was strong enough to see what uncontrolled usage of this drug is like and to stop using it, before it started using me.

Isn't it a pity that today's kids can't be 'drug' everywhere too? Maybe we wouldn't have so many gang members, pre-teens having sex, disrespect toward parents and teachers, etc.
