I would say No.
If you asked "is the recreational use of Alcohol justified", I would say No.
I am a long time "Recreational" user of both of those, plus others.

It clouds rational judgment, leads to abuse and often leads to other drugs. I, and many others have been a victim of those.

I don't know ANYBODY who does not fit those categories.

Try being sober and being with those that are under the influence.
They make iditotic decisions and act like fools. If you don't see any harm in that, then go for it.

P.S.
How do you define "recreational use"? After work, on holidays, on weekends?
How much is considered to be the recreational amount?
one hit, one joint, one joint an hour, one joint a day, whatever it takes?

I belive that it is 99% justified! The only 1% is cause its illegal! Like you said, recreational, thats fine, but when it comes down to it making dumb people dumber, losing ambition, getting fat, and just sitting around the house stoned watching re-runs of south park all day, then it's no longer recreational.

I smoke once in a while to get high, not stoned out of my tree, I dont spend money on the ****, but if its there once in a while I will smoke it, thats what I consider recreational!

Once it starts making you stupid, once it starts draining your wallet, once you feel the need for it, it's no longer recreational!

This country was built on the belief of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as long as it doesn't inter fear with the happiness of others. If I want to smoke grass in the privacy of my own home, if I choose to grow plants in my back yard for personal use then that should be my business and the government should have no right to label me as a criminal as long as I respect other peoples happiness and stay off the roads, only grow personal and mind my own business. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin all grew pot on their property as well as distilled alcohol and brewed beer. The only reason pot is illegal is because pharmaceutical companies would stand to loose billions in over priced pills. Other countries have no problems with it's legalization like the Netherlands and Canada. proving who's pocket politicians actually live in. Pot is non-lethal and regardless of the lies perpatrated by propaganda it is non- addictive.

As long as people don't get out and drive or otherwise hurt somebody while they're using, I personally don't have a problem with it. As far as I'm concerned, what a person does in his own home on his own time, as long as he is not harming someone else, is his own business. I am personally in favor of legalizing marijuana for recreational use; we have bigger things to worry about than somebody who wants to smoke a joint on the weekends.

I think we should be allowed to put whatever the hell we want into our bodies as long as you dont go out and put other peoples lives in danger. MAybe if that were the way it was, the governement would be wasting less time chasing drug dealers and actually give strict punishments to the drunk drivers and all that. The ones who DO hurt people.

Of course! I as an adult in a "free" country, should be able to put whatever I want in my own body.
With that said, there is no safer drug to use. It kills cancerous cells, and pot smokers live an average of 2-3 years longer than non pot-smokers.
