She will find the tiny pieces of paper, sponges, teddybears, socks. If it is tiny, she takes it to her bed and is happy just laying there. I call her a little pack rat. She is a mini dachsund and 13 weeks old.

In some dogs yes. Our pups are about the same age. I think ours is 16 weeks now....
I have been training my little puppy to "bring it to me". then "hand it to me". She brought me two tampons the other night! lol... I feel asleep so I was not here for the third one so she chewed it up....
She brings me other things she picks up and if I tell her to bring it to me. Easy to train a puppy to do this when they pick up stuff on there own.
I have trained others to do this too and it is very handy when they grow up and you need something and your hands are full.
Give it a go, with a pup who does this already it is easy :0)

It might be cute now, but it can become a bad behavior. When a dog starts to get territorial over this "stuff" in it's bed, it may get aggressive when you attempt to remove it. Your best bets are to puppy proof your home, crate train and teach your dog the "leave it!" command. After he "leaves it", praise him and redirect him to one of his toys. This reinforces the items he is aloud to take into his bed. The "leave it" command is one of the primary commands they teach you and you dog in training. Also make sure that the toys he does take into his bed are puppy safe. Trust me when I say that having a plastic nose from a claw machine stuffed animal is really expensive to have removed from a puppy's gut!!

Yes it's normal. My puppy carries everything but the kitchen sink to his bed. Somethings are easy to identify some are to far gone. But he's happy with his little statch so I guess thats all that matters.

Yes very normal, my dog is 8 yrs. old & still does this. I think it's just a comfort issue, she just likes to have a few things from around the house in her bed w/her.

yes...we have a standard dash and he does the same thing. i think it is his way of staking out his territory. just make sure she isn't eating or swallowing them. mine will tear up any toys he's given, then stack the pieces in a neat little pile in his bed. as long as she isn't ingesting them, it's ok.

That is precious! Yeah, she thinks these little things are toys or are something that she's going to need later or want later to play with. That's a cute story. :)

well dogs will be dogs you must remember that you have a puppy so expect the unexpected i guess its a mental thing she feels comfortable have anything small around her so it makes her feel happy anything to cuddle with while she sleeps or just relaxing!
