It depends on how much you listen to the radio and how much you drive. You can buy cheap cd players on ebay. Also, if you do buy a cd player and are worried about it getting stolen, I would consider buying a cd player with a detachable faceplate, that way when you get out of your car you can take it with you.
I live in a bad neighborhood and that works really well.

You can purchase a descent cd player for a 100 dollars and yes if you ask me it is worth it. even if you do not play cd's often the sound quality is better than a stock radio. A couple of suggestions but a sony or a jvc. and if possible do not get one with a volume turn knob they have alot of trouble. find one with volume buttons. and do not let anyone cut off the factoy connector if it is still there they sell connectors that will plug right into it and they are not expensive at all and the connection is much better than cutting and connecting the wires. oh and for the theft part just get a player that has removable face most theives know that a cd player is worthless without its face.

First, it all depends on the value of the car. I mean, if your car is a $500 junker, then it's not worth even putting even a $100 radio w/CD player in it. However, if the car is worth a lot more and you plan on keeping it for a while you can get a pretty decent radio w/CD for around $100 - $150 plus tax and installation. I know, because I got one for my wife's car and she loves it.

Definitely worth it. For about $120 you can get a AM/FM MP3 Sony that will accept an Ipod and can play ten hours of music from one home-burned disc off of your computer. Installation is often free when you buy at places like Best Buy.

If you enjoy listening to Cd's and want one in your car and you can afford it, then it is worth it.
