Yes, as a medical expense. You have to itemize, and you can only take the portion of your medical expenses that exceed 7.5% of your income.

ie when accrued accounting companies have an account for uncollectible accounts, at their discretion, and according to their accounting plans, some of those uncollectibles are written off, a tax write off this is only an example, there are more a tax deductible item is ie. the mortgage interest you pay on your home, it will allow you to itemize and probably able to deduct a number of other things you would not otherwise in essence it reduces your taxable income, not necessarily a tax deduction a tax deduction would be something to reduce your actual tax liability such as the child tax credit of $1000 for children under 17 in the household

they are deductible towards medical expenses and that will reduce your taxes only when medical expenses are over a certain limit (7 or 8%) of your taxable income!.
If you want to figure out, use some free online tax prep service or something good like turbo tax online with great deals listed here at http://www.redtagdeals.com/tax_preparation_online-coupons

Out-of-pocket medical expenses are tax deductible above and beyond whatever amount the IRS specified for this year. Eye glasses alone are not deductible, but they contribute toward the total out-of-pocket medical expenses.

I'm 99% sure they are deductible as medical expenses, but that's irrelevant 99% of the time for two reasons. 1) Medical expenses are only deductible to the extent that the exceed 7.5% (I'm fairly sure of this percentage w/o looking it up) of your AGI, and you're only going to itemize medical expenses and other expenses if they exceed your standard deduction. 2) Your itemized deductions aren't likely to exceed your standard deduction unless you make a lot of money, in which case, see #1.
Bottom line: unless you get hit by a bus, forget itemizing medical expenses.
