Antibiotics, a box of tissue, and something to spit in, like a small trashcan, to spit whatever it is that you cough up.

I would also try keeping a humidfier on to increase moisture, as well as using some vasoline rubbed on the inner part of your nose to assist with dryness. (If you don't have a humidifier, boil water on the stove to increase humidity)

Hope you feel better soon.

Once you have full-blown sinusitis, it must be treated by a doctor.

To keep from getting it, however, esp. in fall-like weather: the Nettie Pot (mentioned in one of the answers) does work, but, I use a prescription saline nosespray.
The humidifier at night: a must. Holmes has the quietest ones.

A home-remedy that really works is:
Core out an onion, not too much, like an apple or more, then put honey in it. Put it, covered, in the fridge and let it sit overnight. Then, one to two teaspoons a day, or more (up to 3x day), keeps problem from coming up.
I tried it, and am VERY PRONE to sinusitis-bronchitis. I worked outside in sunny, cold weather last fall for two weeks doing HEAVY yard work--thus, breathing in the cold air a lot.
This remedy kept my lungs clearer than anything & my nose too.

You can fill the onion twice before needing another onion.
And, the ooze that may come from onion into the bowl is very potent. Any mush I put on toast & eat like a marmelade.
It truly works.

A visit to your doctor is in order here. There may be something else going on like a deviated septum. I had mine fixed this summer and that was the root of the problem. Once you have it, it will always be there. I have chronic sinusitis (Bacterial is the one I think I have), and it does not go away. Your doctor will be able to pin point what the exact cause is. You can use rhinitis which you can find on most pharmacy store shelves like walmart. It is made for sinusitis. Saline sprays such as Baby Mist or one with a dolphin is good too as it keeps the mucus membranes moist and will lessen the flareups.

I use a warm mist humidifier and it also has a medicine chamber for vicks. You can either get the one that has a humidifier symbol on it (you will see mist vapours on it) or you can get vicks in the jar. Both are safe. A lot of vitamin C is good too and warm face cloths on your nose as well.

My wife has, well I guess had constant sinusitis problems. We move a few years ago and our new heating system includes a humidifier, makes a biggggg difference. If buying a new house isn't an option, buy your self a good quality portable one and keep it running while you sleep.

She also got this thing, I can't remember the name but I call it the nose tea kettle. It looks like a small tea kettle and she fills it with water and baking soda then puts the spout of the "kettle" in a nostrel and inhales the mixture. I know, it sounds quite weird but she swears by it.

Before you load yourself up on meds try to find other enviromental issues in your home/work place that are causing it. Diet and exercise can also be a factor.

Good luck.

It is a multiple approach.Your immune system is low and can not get rid of its toxins...By smoking you keep adding toxins and lowering your immun system. If you keep smoking your stretching capacity of the longs will diminish and you will develop COPD a lunch disease which you will be on oxygen most of the time....How much of a choice do you have then to quite smoking?

Post nasal drip is a result of allergies. Allergies to whatever is in the air. One result form allergies is sinusitis. You can cure yourself form allergies or post nasal drip but it takes time. Also allergies is a sign of to much toxins in you system and or a low immune system. "That is why it is a common disease for people above 40...the older folks"

Light headiness can be due to a lack of water too and or an ear infection, sinus infection. After you AB did you take acidophilus to regain “good bacteria” in your guts and improve your immune system?
It sounds like your immune system is low. Drink 8 – 8 ounce glasses of water daily. Avoid sugar and products which sugar as every infection thrives with sugar. Try Oil of Oregano as Oil of Oregano is anti- bacterial, anti- viral, anti- fungal. Take the Oil of Oregano internally and massage around the ear. Feeeeels so good. Use Eucalyptus on her pillow or half an onion to clean the ear. Try to steam with eucalyptus to open up the sinuses. Use super foods to increase your immune system, like walnuts, kefir, blue berries (vegetables and fruit in general). For allergies use lots of Vitamin C like 1000 mg every hour for a child times 4. It seems like you are almost better. Just the tip of the ice berg. Here some more practical tips. Avoid stress and focus on health not on sickness, visualize your self better and do the visualization together in a fun way. When you get in a positive mode you will also be able to find the right solutions much easier.

In addition to the previous advice, use a saline rinse in your nose and a mouth wash to rinse your mouth several times a day.
