Cats are beautiful animals. Ours purr and give little kisses (most of them). We have some that come to you when they want attention. My thought is that you already may like the cat deep down inside, but you're scared the real owner may be found and want her back. I think most laws give your family ownership after 30 days. If it's been that long already your dad should take her to the vet to be registered and get her shots and see if she was ever fixed. They may be able to find the scar. A cat will be able to sense your mood around her, relax and let her come to you. She may be scared herself of being ripped away from your loving home. Our Pom. mix was dumped from a truck (stopped) and abandoned and is nervous around vehicles. We take him on short trips so he'll realize we're not going to dump him too, but he's coming back home with us each time. It's starting to work. Leave your bedroom door ajar and she may come in and sleep with you and you might wake up curled up with her one morning.

"chai" and "2007" said it all - I just got one as well, oooooh she's so adorable ! But all pets need consistent training for a while so they understand what is unacceptable or simply no no for the family
