If the doctors think it's for the best, then go for it. I've had so many surgeries in my life, if you connected all my scars, I'd look like a road map! So please don't worry, it WILL be ok. And after you start healing up, and are as good as new, you will have forgotten all about your pre-surgery jitters. Good luck!

Since you're 15 I assume your friends are roughly the same age, and chances are most of them can't imagine going through three surgeries. Young people can sometimes dramatize things.

If your doctor recommended surgery there is reason for it, and the doctor must know it will be fine. Just make up your mind that it will be a good thing to get over with, all will be fine, and it isn't anything to worry about.

There is a slight, slight, slight, chance something could not turn out as planned; but doctors are good at dealing with those things too. As far as that remote risk that all surgeries pose, just think of it this way: You take risks every day by riding in cars or doing gymnastics or riding a bike or eating something you could choke on.

You're young, and you must be healthy enough for the doctor to plan to do surgery. They may mean well, but don't listen to your young friends. Young people are very big emphathizers, but sometimes their empathy turns into more drama than it should.

sweetie i know exactly what u are going thru. i just had surgery 7 days ago. i was scared out of my wits end. my doc also told me it would be in my best intrest. just think of what it would be like after the pain is gone. and u said that this is ur 3rd u should be a pro. i know not a laughing matter but laughter is the best medicine and im sure ull be fine.

wow third one. You never get used to surgery. I had arthroscope on my knee and the night and morning of my surgery I was literally shaking. It is normal. Fear of the unknown. Will I wake up? Will it hurt after? Will it get better? all those questions go through your mind. Just relax and on the day of the surgery they will probably give you Demerol before the surgery to kinda take the nervous edge off. BOY it sure did me. Good luck you'll do fine.

There's really nothing to worried about ,it's okay to be afraid but don't let that ever stop you . I'm sure there's nothing to worrier about it's just your shoulder right ,but to make you feel better you should probably look up more info and make sure you ask your doctor as many questions as you can(until you fill better).
I HOPE EVERY THING TURNS OUT FINE ;)

If there is that much concern over this surgery, and it's the 3rd one...maybe you should get a 2nd or even 3rd opinion

Oh my gosh!! How do you keep doing that? Don't be scared you will be just fine. It will be over before you know it. Then whatever you keep doing to get hurt, stop it. :)
