I have breastfed 3 children and found that certain foods did make them gassy like broccoli, cabbage, beans, etc. If your baby is fussy alot after feeding, your child might have colic and/or acid reflux and might need to be put on Zantac (by your pediatrician, of course). Mylicon is also great for gas and can be bought at most baby stores or drug stores. Also, one of my kids had a milk protein allergy. There has been a recent study found that the 2 most common foods that ended up in breast milk were dairy and beef products. While beef probably wouldn't be an issue, dairy very well could be. If your child is fussy after nursing you might want to avoid dairy for a day or two and see if it subsides. Your child could have a milk protein allergy or be lactose intolerant.
