i want to get a tattoo that involves my very best friends names, and also involves sticking together after highschool or about how much they mean to me or something (we're graduating this year)...any ideas?

How about getting something other than their names.... I got a sun with my friend from school, it was like a secret sisterhood thing, same spot, same sun. Now, I might add that I had been out of school for 15 years and felt our friendship was strong enough to make that kind of committment. I suggest a star, sun, butterfly etc.
Getting peoples names on you is VERY trashy, and when you are older you WILL regret it, and from my understanding, laser removal hurts more that the actual tattoo.
I don't doubt you love your friends, but this is a huge committment and you are going to have to spend the rest of your life explaining who these people are and that they are not lovers, ex lovers or your children....
Sit down with your friends and come up with something that is special that you all agree on.... Have a look on the internet at different styles, it doesn't have to be huge or somewhere you can see it, do your research and I have no doubt in my mind that in 15 years time you are still going to love it!!!

I love tattoos, I think everybody should have one.... but you really shouldn't tattoo names of friends, boyfriends or husbands on your skin .....not ever. I know that these people are your life.....but your life is just begining and I PROMISE you that in 20 years you probably won't even know where these friends are. On a tattooartists website they surveyed artists and names were the number one thing that they were asked to cover. I think that you SHOULD get a tattoo that memoralizes your friendship but do it with symbols. Maybe pick an object to represent each friend like a butterfly, a sun and moon (based on their personality or something unique to them) Maybe a flower from each friends birth month and link them together in some way. If you have to have words say it without names......Maybe "Faithful" for "Forever" A good artist can help you work out a design....

Just from experience, these same best friends may do something to hurt you in the future, so I wouldn't go putting their names on your body. Instead, think of something that you all like for example, if you played a sport together something having to do with that sport or something having to do with a fun trip you all went on together. Use a symbol instead of names. Something with meaning, that you would still like even if any of the friendships went south.

With the exception of the names of your children, you shouldn't have any names done. Chances are that you'll want them removed down the line. I know you don't want to hear that, but it's true.
Instead of doing names, why not think of something that symbolizes your time in high school and friendship?

If you really must include names, and they're the most transient of things, incorporate them into the stems of a circle of roses. Most people will see only the flowers, but you'll know what else is there.

DON'T DO NAMES!!!get a cool tattoo that shows unity between you and WHOEVER is making you happy at that point in time...eg a angel and devil on each shoulder to show that you always have someone there to help you

never ever get someones name tattooed on you!!! you could all get matching tattoos that has something to do with your friendship..or maybe an inside joke or story

ye dont do it, you cant rely on people like that
bnut if you do have their names in an endless stream around like an ankle or something, have their names all joined up so theres no gaps

instead of putting their names..i would do part of a tatttoo showing that everyone is part of the group. if you write their names, when you're not firends anymore you're stuck with it. instead put like a broken heart or something..the other half goes to your firned because she completes you ..
