It sounds very serious , I am guessing 6 months or less.I am sorry to hear this , try to spend time with him and try to be strong.
See if you can have a pastor talk to him about the bible , if he is saved he will go to a better place , that is heaven , no more pain.

First off let me say I am so sorry to hear about your father. Yes, when cancer spreads to the bones it is very painful. I hope his physicians, and health care team are going to manage his pain and symptoms well.
No one can say without a doubt how much longer he will live. It will depend on his will to live.
Signs that the end is immanent will include labored breathing, could sound like he has something in the back of his throat, his extremities will become cold to touch and take on a dusky appearance. Depending on where other mets are there will be other potential symptoms.
Prior to this he will probably be talking to people only he can see, he will talk about the past. He may talk about having to go some where, & that he has to go and get in line.
Support and encourage him the best you can, remind him that everything will be okay, that his family will be okay and that it is okay for him to go, when he is ready.
I wish you all the best through this difficult stage of life...it to is a journey.

I'm so sorry about your father. My father died of prostate cancer after having it for 3 years with many different medical treatments. The pain at the end was very bad, but the doctor was able to help him with strong medication. Doctors are required by law to address the pain to make the patient as comfortable as possible. If you still hopeful for a cure and are interested in alternative therapies: Look up hacres.com and click on testimonies then cancer/prostate then search. My best wishes to you and your father.

I'm so sorry to hear about your father. Cancer sucks, no other way to say that. I'm a survivor but I've lost most of my family and friends to cancer.

It sounds like it's spread a good deal, bone cancer is very painful and I hope the radiation helps. It could go into remission. Also there are alot of clinical trials out there and new meds coming out on a daily basis, so there is no way to predict how long he will live. That depends on his attitude, how strong he is and what he wants to endure and try.

I hope things improve.

I have to agree with the others that are saying there is no way of knowing the time he has left. Also that you should spend all the time you can with him that you possibly can. I hope that you can get hospice in to help your family. In NC they can spend 6 months and then they can apply for another 6 months if they need to. They are a wonderful group and they will include you in every decision. We had them with my mom and i honestly dont know how we could have made it without the caring and support they gave to us.

Gee, I'm sorry to hear that your father is so ill. Nobody can tell you how long he will live but, having lost both my parents, i can tell you to spend as much time with him as possible because you will miss him.

I'm sorry that I can't give you an answer. But life is not ours to gauge. Love him as much as you can - pray that his quality of life is good. No matter how much time he has left, it will never be enough. Blessings to you and your family.
