Getting it pierced doesn't hurt...Just be prepared with some slushies for the next week. I used mouthwash, the Colgate Alcohol Free, constantly and took some childrens liquid motrin and I was pretty good and then by the end of week two everything was normal.

You also may want to take a little motrin before you go...it may help with the pain a little.

The piercing doesn't hurt that bad.

What 'hurts' is the anticipation to doing it once you're in the chair waiting because once they start up it's done in a snap, and then the days after when your tongue swells up and you have to eat mush that's the biggest 'pain'.

But, if you think that you want it, then do it, just make sure a professional does it.

Fairly painful. It depends on your pain tolerance. It goes pretty quickly once you have it done. The worst part is the first week because your tongue swells and makes it hard to eat. If you get it done make sure you follow the care instructions cause you don't want it to get infected.
Me personally, I had it pierced and would not recommend it because I chipped 2 teeth accidently biting down on it.

Two of my close friends have them and they told me that they numb your tongue and it doesnt hurt..plus its not true that you cant eat solid food it just takes time to get use to having something in your mouth!

It really doesn't hurt at all. It swells a bit the next day and is tender, but it really doesn't hurt.

not that bad, just like when your mother get soooo angry and pinch you so hard on your arm, just like that.
and beside you cannot eat solid food just fluid.. so while you get piercing you stay on diet to...
just do it .. if you like something so far that is not stupid thing
live it so short
