Jesus criticizes the Jews for not killing their disobedient children according to Old Testament law. Mark.7:9-13 "Whoever curses father or mother shall die" (Mark 7:10 NAB)

Jesus is criticized by the Pharisees for not washing his hands before eating. He defends himself by attacking them for not killing disobedient children according to the commandment: “He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.” (Matthew 15:4-7)

Jesus has a punishment even worse than his father concerning adultery: God said the act of adultery was punishable by death. Jesus says looking with lust is the same thing and you should gouge your eye out, better a part, than the whole. The punishment under Jesus is an eternity in Hell. (Matthew 5:27)

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. (Ephesians 6:5 NLT)

Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them. (1 Timothy 6:1-2 NLT)

In the following parable, Jesus clearly approves of beating slaves even if they didn't know they were doing anything wrong.

The servant will be severely punished, for though he knew his duty, he refused to do it. "But people who are not aware that they are doing wrong will be punished only lightly. Much is required from those to whom much is given, and much more is required from those to whom much more is given." (Luke 12:47-48 NLT)

I think that taking any text out of context can create confusion as to the meaning and/or significance of the text.

I can do the same thing with any text book, political speech, or thesis and paint a picture that is very different than what the author intended.

If you really want to know the meanings of those passages, you may want to do a comprehensive study - there are lots of online tools for that.

Here are my thoughts on a few of these:

As far as honoring our mothers and fathers - well I think God was pretty serious about that one - and quite truthfully, I have to think the world might be a better place if more of us were, as well.

As far as adultery is concerned, the Bible says adulterers will not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven...so they will die the second death. All sin is punishable by death, actually.

That is why we need a Savior - The Father doesn't want all His kids to die!

The verses are out of context of course, Jesus loved the law, but behind the law was the heart. The adultery paragraph illustrated the perfection of the law that no man could attain in order to merit Heaven.

Except for the Arminians, who have a different story about babies and developmentally deficient adults. Had to throw that in there.

this has nothing to do with condoning slavery, slavery was still around in jesus' day and he say if you are a slave. we all know that slavery is not right and is not in the bible for the believer of today. jesus was criticizing the pharisees because they were hypocrites and jesus was trying to show them that he was the savior. the old testament was given to the jews to show them that they could not measure up to gods standard and that they needed a savior, that is why jesus came to fulfill the law and be that perfect sacrifice for all mens sins to all those who will accept him. we need a savior today friend wont you accept him today.

What I think is that you hate Christ, God, the truth of God's Word, and Christians.
I'm shaking my head that anyone would actually be so ignorant as to misinterpret or purposely twist the word of God into such lies. The nerve of mockers and blasphemers never ceases to amaze me in these end times. This is really a wicked generation who desires to live completely lawless without boundaries or consequences for wrong behaviors. (I'm sure most of law enforcement agrees.)
So, instead of getting into futile debates with an anti-Christ spirit, I will simply point you to the true picture of the Christ of the Bible. You know, the one who took a beating on His back until it looked worse than hamburger meat and His intrals were possibly protruding out and many men died from 39 stripes from those cat-o-nine tails, and why did He do submit to that torture? So our bodies would be healed. He endured being slapped, His beard plucked out. Think how painful it would be for someone to pull your facial hairs out (if you have any!) or say to tweeze all your eyebrows and nosehairs and earhairs out. That is torture. He did it for you but you mock Him still. They cursed Him and called Him names. What did He do but heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out devils and restore people's lives and without asking for money I might add. Even Pilate declared He was an innocent man. Yet you accuse Him falsely. He endured the shame of the cross. Crucifixion is very torturous. He had already lost so much blood. Yet, He did it all for you and I to be free from sin, guilt, shame, hell and bondage.

Yes, my Jesus even said on the cross to those who put Him there "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do." Do you know what you are doing? Can you hear Him groan in pain as the nails are driven in His hands and feet? Didn't our sins drive those nails? Have mercy on this Man of Galilee. Don't grieve the spirit of God. He wants to save you from your sins.
Can't you see this is truly the Son of God? See Jesus take on the curse of sin for you so you can be free from the law of sin and death? See the blood and water flow from His side? That is to cleanse and set free the hearts of men and women for all of time who will come and plunge themselves beneath that crimson flow and be made white as snow no matter how vile they may be.
Like the Pharisees, people today try to villainize an innocent man. They did it for envy. What is your excuse? This Jesus I know said "as much as ye have done it to the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.", "Bless those that curse you", "Love your enemies", "pray for them who despitefully use you.", "overcome evil with good", "love thy neighbor as thyself", "do unto others as you would have them do unto you", "blessed are the merciful for they will recieve mercy". He taught us to have compassion and mercy on our fellow man and lived that example.
Don't try to paint an awful picture of my Jesus. Don't make Him your enemy. He has done nothing to you but lay down His life for your sake. He's my best friend and wants to be yours as well. No, the punishment under Jesus isn't hell. Jesus took that punishment for those under His blood. We do not fear judgment who are new creatures in Christ Jesus. Bring your sins to the light today. Hear the Lord calling you saying " Saul, Saul, (Child, child,) why persecutest thou me?"
"And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest."

".. Historians have indicated that Romans used a whip called a flagrum. This whip had two or three thongs, and at their ends there were pieces of metal or bone which look like small dumbbells. These were designed to gouge out flesh. The thongs and metal end-pieces from a Roman flagrum fit precisely into the anterior and posterior scourge lesions on the body. The victim was whipped from both sides by two men, one of whom was taller than the other, as demonstrated by the angle of the thongs. " http://www.godonthe.net/evidence/forensic.htm
