yes they do. there are beer can colectors also.the beer /pop/can wasn't invented till 1935.
i am not sure of soda pop organizations but for a long while in my youth i bellonged to the BEER CAN COLLECTORS OF AMERICA. (bcca for short)and i met many people whitin that club that collected pop and beer cans.hope this answered your question.
ps a common saying amoung most of them was"rust is a must"
sense so many cans were hard to find in mint or even near mint condition.

Yes they do! Especially Coca-Cola. Others collect from different states or labels. Look at eBay to get an idea.

I collect them to a point and the return them for the Damn 10¢ deposit we have here to buy my next bottle!

Our town (a small one), recycles them to help pay for 4th of July fireworks every year. It's pretty successful !
