The lowest I've seen it was about 28,000 feet in the winter, but it can get lower. It's often around 45,000 in the summer. And no, it's not called the "jet stream" because only jets can fly in it. Soeone's points should be revoked.

As with all answers when it comes to meteorology: it depends. The jetstreams ( there are multiple) are higher in the summer, lower in the winter. They are also higher near the equator, lower near the poles.

They usually hang out near the tropopause, which in the middle northern latitudes can be anywhere from near the low 30 thousands up to 50 thousand or so.

Disclaimer: these are my wild guesses based on things I learned a little while ago, so the numbers may be off, but the principles I know are right.

The reason its called a jet stream is because only a jet plane can fly high enough to be effected by it. So if you own a prop airplane and not a jet; then there's no reason for you to ask this question. JUST GET ON WITH YOUR LIFE!!!!

It changes with location and season. Higher in the summer, lower in the winter.

Usually around 30,000 winter; 50,000 summer. Roughly
