never beat around the bush or lie....be direct and honest...If he loves you it will hurt for some time but we all get over it.

Tell him face to face. It's the worst thing to do it over the phone or the internet. It's a security blanket. The least you can do is say it to the man's face. Tell him that you do not think the relationship is working out but that you value his friendship. Then their will be an akward moment when he is hurt and you feel guilty. Simply tell him that it is you, not him, and that you just aren't that into him.

Make a fake lottery ticket and tell him that he won. Once he goes to turn it in and finds out its a fake, he'll come crying back to you, then you just say that you should start seeing other people cause he is bad luck

There's no ethical way to do that. Grin n bear it. Be honest, open, and understanding, because in his situation, he might not be so understanding of this decision, even if you have an honest and logical explanation.

i would just try to nicely ask him what he thinks will come of your relationship. and if he says that he doesnt know then say that you dont either or something. and say that maybe it would just work better if you could just be friends or something. say that you still just want to see whats out there and that you dont want to have to feel tied down and that you still care for him, its just not that forever till death do us part feeling.
