I had an allergy shot a few hours ago and I plan on going to a party tonight but I'm not sure if it'd be safe for me to drink any since I had that shot. I'm not sure if the alcohol would cause some sort of reaction or if the alcohol would be completely harmless.

Please let me know (and no guesses please)

The standard rule is that you should not mix alcohol and medication. If you want a definitive answer, you need to check with your allergist or give the local emergency room a call.

The honest, non-scaremongering answer is that a single drink has never been found to be harmful at any stage of pregnancy. It certainly doen't cause FAS. (And, of course, many women don't find out they are pregnant until they are several weeks along, and drink alcohol in those early weeks without knowing they are pregnant, and with no evidence of harm.) I WOULD limit it to one drink. Or, if you prefer to abstain, that's fine too. Nobody should ever pressure you to drink, and you can go to the party, enjoy yourself, and stick to non-alcoholic beverages. EDIT: Can Winn please cite a source for her belief that bipolar disorder and maternal alcohol use are connected?

Allergy shots increase the effects of alcohol, so I'd ask my doctor if I can drink alcohol before imbibing.

as everyone else said call your docter.
With this website you shouldn't 100% trust anyone else's advice about medical questions because they might be just guessing and have no medical knowledge at all.
