We are renting a cabin in North GA for the weekend for one friend's 40th birthday. There will be 5 of us there all weekend and there are going to be a few people male and female dropping by on Friday and Saturday night. I have been put in charge of the drinks...and I am wondering what are some good inexpensive drinks that we can make? We are not big on Gin...but Vodka, Rum, Tequila, and other are OK. Any ideas? Thank you to everyone who answers!!!

Well my girlfriends always want margaritas, it's a universal fave. I'd suggest getting one or two of those big tubs they have of mix, preferably not premixed. Don't buy expensive tequila cause you're just going to mix it with other stuff so the taste doesn't matter. Also, try to find some cheap amaretto, this is so good in margaritas, added to sweet and sour mix, sprite, coke, etc. Don't buy the expensive stuff unless you're drinking it on the rocks. Frozen cans of orange juice, grapefruit and cranberry juice will go great with vodka, salt rim if wanted. Rum rocks with those frozen pina colada mixes, as well as coke. Don't forget the beers for the guys, and whisky if you think they need it. Hope it helps...

I would pick a theme of drinks... maybe a different theme each night... then have cheap beer as a back up...

Spanish Coffee if cold out - (warning you need to light it on fire)
It is important you use the right glass and follow the instructions

Wine - get a good wine to start the night off...
then move to cheaper on after you enjoyed the good bottle.

if cold out...
Good... I like the ponzi resserve... 40.00 a bottle
Cheap... yellow tail shiraz 7.00 a bottle <--
good value and a good taste

if warm outside... do some white wines, do a tasting!
big bottle of gallo chardonna

if warm outside make a big thing of mexican sangria - this is awsome for partys becuase you make a big thing of it and then you are done... it is super easy and super cheap and everyone always likes it.

if warm margarittas

if you want to be swanky then hook up make you own martinis
- vodka (stohli)
- dirty vodka (with olive juice)
- sour apple
- rasberry
- choclate
- cosmo

Note: The curvy pre mixed martini mixers make some of the fruity martinis easier to mix

And always bring a case of pbr as a back up for if you run out of the other stuff or if you end up playing a card game.

margaritas or daiquiris
they are good with or without the liqueur added and likewise can be made a lil stronger or a lil weaker depending on ones own taste.
