It's easy to swallow a pill if you put the water in a bottle of some sort. There is a natural action when you drink from a bottle that helps move the pills down. This is how I taught my children to take pills. Try it!

Try these 2 different approaches and find which works best for you: Many people, like myself, are ok putting pill on tongue, taking a gulp of fluid and swinging their head back, letting gravity assist the pill & liquid be swallowed. Some people, however have a tendency to gag on pills, so try swallowing pill & liquid with your head/chin down towards your neck. Speech therapists recommend this to stroke & elderly patients when eating- putting your chin down enlarges the space of your tube, whereas tilting your head back pinches it narrower. More space decreases the chance of the food or pill getting "stuck"- causing that gagging feeling. Of course just crush it (and use applesauce, etc.) if the pharmacist says its ok, but many pills are time released so crushing them can be dangerous.

put the pill on the back of your tongue and drink sufficient water for one gulp. drink down the water and the pill goes with it. If you feel the pill is too big for your throat, snap it into 2 and repeat the process.
If that is too scary or the pill tastes bitter, drink water first. hold your mouth up and put the pill in such a way that it reaches the back of your throat. gulp the water..
I dont think i explained it very well, but thats how i do it.. and it works.. best of luck :)

My cats continuously caught directly to the pill interior the nutrition trick. additionally, except the cat eats each and all the nutrition, he won't get the completed dosage of drugs. I wrap my cats up in a towel like a burrito with in basic terms their head protruding. This keeps them from squirming and scratching. I carry them in one arm and use the different hand to poke the pill as far decrease back into the mouth as i will. carry the mouth close and stroke the throat until you sense him swallow. verify to make sure the pill went down. you additionally can purchase treats called pill wallet that artwork nicely with some cats. basically placed the pill interior the handle and supply it to the cat. returned, verify to make sure the pill have been given swallowed. Kia's way is a little greater interesting although, LOL!

sometimes crushing medication is not good for the drug if it is a time release medication or something that needs a buffer coating on it- ask for it in liquid form
if it is not available in liquid form, try slipping it into a cooked macaroni noodle and swallowing each bite without chewing (i wouldnt reccomend too many bites like this- but it will get the pill down
