1) Highlight text
2) Press ctrl + C to copy

4) Press ctrl + X to cut

Copy and paste, is a jargon for computer usage. When someone tells you to copy and paste, means you copy a text from word pad, web or excel. You highlight whatever you want to copy and then right click your mouse and look into copy and click "copy". Then you go to a new word pad or excel to right click your mouse and then click "paste".
It is like importing a text from one page to another. That's all and it is easy.
