are there any new restrictions for the luggage after 9/11 and are there any change with the security check process?

There were a lot of new restrictions regarding the types of things you can take in your carry-on baggage. As far as checked baggage, you will have to contact the air carrier that you are flying. Different carriers have different restrictions in size and weight, so one answer is not going to cover this question. Choose your carrier, then call them for an answer. As always, baggage restrictions could change again, so if you buy your ticket months in advance, you should still call to confirm allowable baggage size & weight just prior to your departure so you don't get stuck with overweight/excess baggage fees at the airport. You don't want to have to repack or leave things behind!
** Security is tight at all airports, but there really isn't going to be a list of what they do at specific airports. You must just be ready to comply with their requests and directions. The security personnel can and will search anyone they want to. They don't need to have a reason.

The security check now involves removing your shoes (in addition to the above-stated requirements). Plus, laptops have to be out of their carriers.
