Cool, poofy ponytail???

Question

I have pointy ears, but I hate wearing my hair down because I usually get hot. How can I make a ponytail that is kinda poofy, and that brings attention away from my ears. This one girl told me to uses a comb to do something, but I totally 4got what she told me.. HELP!!!

she was probably talking about back combing it or teasing it (same thing)

hold the hair in sections straight out from your head... use your comb and pull it from the ends back towards your head -- this does give volume, but is also potentially damaging to your hair-- use hair spray on it as soon as you are done teasing it to hold the volume
