When you say "in need of funding," what exactly do you mean?

Did a family member just get laid off? Did you just spend too much on the holidays?

Are you trying to ask if your church can help you? Usually a church's food closet are used for homeless or those who are in dire need.

I would look at WHY you are "in need of funding" and go from there. Try looking at an unemployment check until you get a job, and until then use what you can.

If your church does not have non profit status, talk to your church elders and GET THAT DONE!
it will help you a great deal in your fund raising efforts.
Call upon your church for help.
maybe you can put it in the next few church programs that you are seeking donations for a bake sale or for a garage sale.
Then have one (or both)
If you have a large church you can expect 40 percent participation (depending upon how hard your minister pushes it)
With your non profit status, your local newspaper should give you a free ad. If not, they dont cost much.
Consider going to the local sams club or other volume discount stores and buy hot dogs and chips and bread and sell the hot dogs at the garage sale. (with your non profit status, you wont pay taxes on it and you might get it even cheaper if you talk to the manager and tell them what you are planning to do)
15- 2 liters, 300 hot dogs and buns (get the buns from the bread store) will cost you about $30.00 if that. you can sell the dogs with a drink for a buck or a buck and a half and make at least $250.00 profit (some people will undoubtedly buy more than one). You will also have to get about 4 rolls of paper towels and a few jugs of mustard and ketcup....what every you dont use in the way of the dogs and bread can be frozen and you can repeat the same process in a few weeks.

That is awesome what your church is trying to do. I wish you much luck!

Maybe the Angel Food foundation--they order food in bulk and sell it for cheap, and they might be able to direct you to places that'll help with supplies or funding.
