an officer can do what they call a "stop and frisk". For this reasonable cause must be justified and the participation of the suspect must be voluntary. Key here is voluntary. Want to find out more check into the 4th amendment. Unreasonable search and seizure is illegal.

not really... depending on the age of consent in that state. but they dont really have a reason to stop you if you are with someone over 18. for all they know the person would be your cousin or brother/sister

I think it depends on what state you live in and the problem with the internet is that it doesn't offer broad search of law by state and the only thing you'll find is applicable to an attorney that being precidents or previous trials pertaining to the same subject matter.

All the police need is reasonable cause to stop you. If they think that you are in danger or that you are up to no good, then yes they can stop you.
