I bought the HR Block Tax Program to do my taxes last year. Do I have to buy the program again each year or do I just do updates over the internet? Thanks!

All tax software companies charge you each year. The laws and forms changed each year so the old software is useless for this year's taxes. If you use a boxed software, you not only have to buy it again every year, but you are responsible for downloading updates as the company reacts to tax changes.

An on-line service is better because they keep it updated so you don't have to download anything. They keep your data backed up so if your hard drive crashes, you don't lose your data.

There are several to choose from but, I like this one because it donates part of your fee to charity. And you can see how much you are getting back before you pay the fee.

I used a downloaded version of H&R block software I purchsed from Amazon for my 2015 taxes this year. My taxes were completed and accepted and I've received the refund last week. I had 900.00 worth of charitable (non-cash) donations this year. Do I have to file a separate 8283 form to list out the itemized donations or does the H&R Block software already do that for me?

I used H&R thru the www.irs.gov site. This year they sent me a free software. This is my third year with them.
My suggestion file your taxes thru www.irs.gov for free, depending on your income and state you live on.
I love I can entered the personal information from the past year and I also was able to reprint a copy of my last 2 years of my tax return.

To answer your question: as long as you have your user ID and password no. But I would go thru the irs website.
