I am a graduatd mechanical engineer and trust me,from experience i know one thing is that the Companies do not care what you GPA is nor what you know. What the companies are looking for are people who have an open mind and can get things done efficiently. I have worked and been at companies that internally bar 4.0 students just based on the notion that they are bookworms and do not have experience or the sense of Flexibility.

Get into co-ops and work with professors if you can. The best thing to do is getting your mind refreshed about what companies look for rather than what you think is what they want.

Yes! From an experience engineer. It's easy to find a job as an engineer. It helps if you are willing to relocate.

Dawg got it right. Depending on where you live, you may to relocate to find the best position.

The company I worked for relocated to Germany - that was just a little to far for my liking so I went into business for myself.

The important thing is to find a job you enjoy - you'll be spending most of your waking hours there!

I am one and I interview college grads for entry level positions. We look for Co-op experience first. I would advise you to find some internship opportunity before you graduate.
