I second the first answer. I have always believed that gays were never given the choice. I am not gay myself but I did grow up with a Friend that was. It was quite obvious that he was gay from the age of 8 years old, although he denied it until he was 24 years old. I watched that man suffer from childhood on, all the teasing he went Thur. I really think that if giving the choice, he would not have chosen that life.

I'm a biologist, or more technically a biochemist. I have to say that I completely agree with you that I believe that biology plays a big roll in whether someone becomes homosexual or not. There are many studies suggesting this is true. There are many reasons why this can be true and why it's possible. I don't believe that it's completely biological, though. I think it can be just as much psychological as biological. There are also many incidents when the person has been gay and then completely "converted" to being heterosexual. That's my opinion, on the subject, however. I won't argue that other scientists have differing views on the subject.

They'll answer this by saying that it's a choice. But I've asked a lot of them to tell me exactly when it was that they chose to be straight and I've never gotten a decent answer.
How 'bout it, fundies? . . . . Was there a time that you really wanted to fool around with both Johnny and Suzie and had to make a choice? Do you still have a powerful inclination to engage in homosexual acts every now and then, but resist this powerful temptation because you know it's a sin?

There's no reason that anyone should have been born conjoined at the head with their twin. There's no purpose on why there are stillbirths. There's nothing right about giving birth to a child with rheumatoid arthritis. They did nothing wrong, they were just born that way.
Same thing with the homosexuals. They are just born the way they are, and shouldn't be held accountable for being "sinful"

I think it's still not entirely clear whether homosexuality is hereditary or environmental. As to the moral implications, I believe that people who feel the need to condemn gays are either insecure in their own sexuality or feel that in some way it is their "religious duty" to do so.

I'm a biologist and I assume you are too because of your name. Some people are biologically going to be more inclined to be gay, however most are not if you are talking about sex chromosomes. Those that have normal male/female sex chromosomes have a choice about being gay. It comes down to what you believe is right and wrong, and if you do believe being gay is wrong, do you still choose to live a homosexual lifestyle because it makes you feel better.

People don't like to see other people be happy. Its envy, they're miserable for some reason so they have to bring every one else down with them. Its not just with homosexuality, its with fashion, music, and religion. The culture and media tells you to dress, think and act a certain way, and if you don't people see you as an outsider. People know this and that's why they use religion to justify their ignorance.

biblical atitudes of homosexuals are so misunderstood it is insane. Notions of homosexuality are very different now than they were even 100 years ago, nonetheless 3 thousand.
However to answer your question, it is purely a function of people suing the bible to justify their thoughts instead of justifying the Bible with their thoughts, in other words, people dont like gays and they look for reasons in the bible to make it ok, instead of reading the bible first and realizing that it is dead wrong to act that way.

I'm guessing that your asking 'Why is it wrong for gays to marry if they are born that way?' Well, they may be born that way but it still doesn't mean that it's right. Some people are born bloodthristy and become serial killers. It's still wrong.

Thats like saying i have to be tolerant of violent people because they were born that way. It is a choice in the end. An alcoholic is born with a problem drinking... and if he indulges in it, he becomes an alcoholic, but he can fight and resist. Same with the homosexuals. Stop hiding behind the they were born that way crap. They can change.
