I am a creationist and don't say the world is only 10 000 years old. I am a Muslim creationist, so maybe its that I understand science, and know that the half-life of carbon-14 that they use is based on a conjecture. How do you know over that significant period of time that the half-life stays constant or how do you know some other physical parameters do not affect the carbon-14 isotope ratio? However I do realize it is best guess, that's what science truly is.
How old the world is? Only God knows :D
On a side note, the reason why I was born in America is because my father came to do his Ph.D in Nuclear Chemistry, but he decided to stay in America and switch to just Chemistry and didn't return to his position as Senior Scientist at the Atomic Energy Commision of Pakistan in the early 80's.
Peace Be With You

When I went to a Christian school, yes they did leave that out when they taught about science. Maybe the school was more fundie then most, I don't know.
Later on I was homeschooled, same thing. And as for state tests that children have to pass, those were incredibly easy. They never asked any tuff science questions. I do not believe they are an accurate gauge for seeing if the child is learning anything.

Well Genesis only defines a day as the passing of light and dark. This may well be the passing of several stars. four stars would have passed between the creation of the earth and the creation of adam. If this seems too long keep in mind that its impossible for you to prove that the earth isnt older than you think it is. You can always search for that older fragment of rock.
And kids who are home schooled throughout their entire childhood usually turn out to be really wierd or antisocial or something like that. Most of the ones I know who have been homeschooled for some part of there school are usually on the duller side anyways.

I'm sure that a lot of creationists believe in all the sciences as well. There is no reason why evolution and creation have to be at such odds!! They exist beautifully together. The problem comes with people interpreting the Bible way too literally.

LOL, i'm a homeschooled creationist...and i think you're generalizing. Not all creationists believe that the earth is 6,000 years old- like me, for instance. So yeah, they'd have to leave it out, but i think the earth is much older, so i could study that if I wanted to.

I don't know what people teach in homeschooling..i believe it can be anything and everything if they want....
Yup trusted technology..it is never wrong..lets all just believe everything man teaches us and accept all their "facts" that cam from man made teachings..now come on..people expect others to believe man in everything,
this is all just a man v god thing..nothing can totally prove either..how about we wait..we shouldn't have to wait long because all of mans technology is causing the earth to be so wrecked and beyond human repar..wooo hoooooo..lets just believe mans thinking .

Ok, what if it is older?
G-d can make it as old as He wants....an older earth than 10 000 years will not get me to foget the miracles I have seen.

Home schools are accountable to the state in which the person lives and the children must pass tests which include science in order to continue in home schooling or graduate.

Carbon dating has been proven to be accurate up to 2000 years. Anything after that is a guess.

You're assuming creationists are bright enough to teach nuclear physics. Or science at all.
