I do both. If it is a book that is really interesting or I think I will need I buy it. Otherwise it is library. Of course so much information is available on the net anymore, that has cut down on both library and buying books.

You should just stick to the library especially if you NEVER re-read books. Because, it's just a complete waste of money if you'll never read it again. And the library has almost ANY book. If you dont find what you're looking for, ask around you're friends might have it. But only buy the book if it's your last resort

I mostly use the library for books to read to the kids and books for me to read. If there is a kid's book that is a huge hit with my sons, then I'll by it. It's a great way to "test run" books and make sure the book collection you develop for your children is full of their favorites. I read a lot so the library saves me a whole lot of money and has a huge selection. And I don't have to feel bad for wasting almost ten bucks on a book that is a dud.

I use the library. I also buy books that I love. We have about two book shelves full now! I think the library is a lot better for avid readers because it gives us a chance to borrow books [that we may not like] for free rather then buying a book, hating it, and then wasting money.

Both. Most of the books I buy are either not available at a library (because they're unusual or rare) or I already read them and want to keep them. I also shop at a used book store downtown, because they're cheap enough. I generally only read novels from the library.

I have textbooks that I buy and then resell at the end of semester.
I also troll the local thrift stores for books because they're only 50 cents and I'm not that picky. And if you look around for a long enough period of time you can find just about anything. I got the complete works of Shakespeare earlier this month for $5. It's in great condition and beautifully bound. Was a total steal. If there's a specific book I want ( I have a few favorite series) I wait a bit after it comes out and then buy it used off of Amazon. I usually read and re-read all of my books over and over again so it's easier just to buy them. Although they are taking up some serious room lol. I also occasionally have to buy replacements. One of my favorites fell apart recently and my daughter dumped her milk on another and I just couldn't not have a copy of either of them so I splurged and bought new copies. It's one of my biggest vices.

I'm a university student and rather broke because of this. I always use library books because they have lots of out of date books, etc etc. However, I will buy books from the store if I know that I will want to mark them up a lot (such as novels for a class) or if I have to buy them as a text for a class.

I've been using the library more, but will buy the book if it is something I really want to keep for my collection.

I do both. Mostly, I use the Library so I don't have to pay for a book. But, if it's a classic sometimes, you just want to own those anyway!
