After you have relaxed your hair and are blowing it out, what products and procedures do you recommend? I really want to make my hair healthier, grow, and just plain look better with my relaxers.

I also need to know your suggestions on how often to relax my hair, and how to keep it healthy, how and when to shampoo, etc. I have been wearing micro braids for a while but I want to wear my hair and grow it out now!

Going to a professional beautician is the best way to make your hair healthier, grow, and look better. Just go to a Dominican or African-American hair salon. They'll be able to help you out with your hair. Don't be upset if they trim it. It will help your hair grow more. If you do your perm yourself, it can cause damage. Let them perm your hair, then every time you wash your hair you should put curlers in it and let it air dry. Using a blow dryer to dry your hair yourself may damage your hair. If you want your hair to grow, Shea butter hair lotion is good for your hair. Apply it to your hair and scalp. If you can't find it in a hair shop, ask a hairdresser if you can buy it from them. Also, try to remember which perm they used on your hair. There are different perms for different texture hair.

To be honest you sound like you are not black. But anyway I like Motions relaxer I use mild and I perm every 6-8 weeks. I use blowdry and use oil sheen and flat iron. I like to use lotta body and rollers if I am doing a wet set.

Seek a professional stylist. Never put chemicals in your own hair......although the box gives instructions.....its impossible to really kno what you are doin in the back of your own head. would you rather spend the money to get it done professionally every 6-8 weeks.....or spend 3x the money every week if you damage yourself and are forced to seek professional help??
