im writing a bibliography in turabian format
and i need to know how to make the little numbers before each citation?
like instead of 1. 2. 3. it would be little 1's and 2's and 3's that are a little higher than average text

I think you are referring to "superscript". Select the text and go to Format, Font and then check the superscript box.

What you want to do is to highlight the number and click FORMAT/FONT and click superscript box. and it will Raise the number and make it small.

Insert - Reference - Footnote. Thats what you want.
