Jesus once said that "It is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. Matthew 19:24.

Now, don't even try to rationalize. Jesus was as poor as dirt and you know it. He preached in the wilderness for half his life, for goodness' sake! And yet, we have the Pope and those Christian business tycoons and Televangelists that make more money than the average man can in 30 years...

Hypocrisy of Marital Relationships: So many Christians try to rationalize this but it is clear that a true follower of Jesus can neither divorce someone nor marry someone who is divorced. There is an exception to the rule, however. If spouse commits adultery, divorce is permissible. On the same token, the Bible also says that anyone who obtains a divorce and marries another is in adulterer. Remember that 80% of this country is Christian yet we have a 50% divorce rate....

Let he or in this case she who is without sin cast the first stone. Unless you are totally perfect, you are just the pot calling the kettle black. Everyone must work out their own salvation with God helps and you are not the judge.

This is good question.I will be glad to explain. Some christians do pick and choose what they want to follow but lets start with the first part of your question. This is the way that Jesus was trying to explain how hard it is to give your life to God because we all know the rich definately do not want to give up their money. Some will physically kill themselves before having to live as a poor person. So imagine a rich man doing it of his own free will.Like Jesus said it easiier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle!!!!!For the second part of your question ;does the marriage take place before or after bpatism. If before then the couple can be baptized and forgiven of all sins(Psalms103:3;Isaiah59:1;Jeremiah31:34).If after and one spouse decides not to be saved the spouse who is saved does not have to stay in the marriage especially if the spouse habits is going to lead them to destruction(1Corinthians7:15;15:33-34).As for the 50% divorce rate;people really need to consider the commitment they are making especially if it is done in the eyes of God and the couple belong to the church. Those who do get divorce for reasons other than outline in the bible, can you really call them christian.Just because they claim to be does not make it so.

I didn't read the Bible, nor did I attend church, before the transformation that took place in me that confirmed to myself that Jesus IS God and that the Bible is true. That is a supernatural thing that cannot be explained away by natural means. Likewise, when I was 6-9, I had never seen a scary movie, or knew what ghosts and demons were, yet I would wake up in a fit of fear while something I couldn't see but feel and hear ran circles around me just fast enough that my eyes couldn't keep up with it. So trying to tell me there is no such thing as a spiritual realm is a waste of time because I experienced it first-hand for a long period of time before I was even old enough to understand what was going on. Just like that supernatural occurrence is un-avoidable and impossible to argue, so is my change. All that happened was I was bawling to my mom because of how contradicting man was. I knew man could not give me the answer I was seeking because man had a hundred different answers for almost everything they can't explain. I just wanted the truth, I wanted to know IS there a God or not, ARE there multiple gods, (see, I already knew my answer by then that there was life after death because of the traumatic experiences I'd had with the supernatural as an innocent child - so that wasn't a question - the question was where are we to go?), what's the deal? That night I died, for the first time, in my dream - when I awoke, I no longer questioned if there was (were) (a) God(s), I also no longer question who was God. I no longer desired sex, drugs, porn, alcohol, and blasphemy. Later I noted that I also lost my second-nature desire to have fits of road-rage. I just knew Jesus was God, and that He did die for us. THAT's when I started reading the Bible, that's when I started going to church. I don't follow my preacher, I don't follow my parents (heck, my family is a multitude of divided belief systems, who could I follow?), I don't follow friends, I just followed my experiences. You can't explain this away from me, you can try and convince yourself this testimony isn't true to make your disbelief easier to swallow, but you can't wipe it out of existence. One does not fall asleep absolutely unconvinced of something, addicted to almost every sin in a book they hadn't read, only to die in a dream and wake up with an entirely different mind-set and lifestyle. THAT is why I believe EVERYTHING the Bible says. That is why I am a Christian. Thanks for listening. -Ashley

First your generalizing and putting all Christians in one basket we're not all the same, anymore than people are the same. Second Jesus had people who supported His minisrty mostly women. Busness people are just that, busness people weather Chrstian or not. I happen to agree with you on the televangelist thing, a sore point with me. I also agree with you on the marrage and divorce thing acutally the divorce rate in america for Christians is more like 56% & I have sad news for you 80% of Canadians may SAY they are Christians but such is just not the case.......being a Christian is more than just saying you agree with the bible. Its about a "relationship" with the Father a living relationship in which you are intimate and You hear his voice and know He love you. BTW the word "repentance" is a big word in Christianity you know repent from your sins and live for God?

whoa you little hotdog! I am a Christian and I do follow the Word of God. You cannot throw that blanket over all Christians like that! There are those who are Chrsitians and there are those who are reprobates.

Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

God blesses the ministry as He sees fit. He brings down those who use His name for profit. Jimmy Swaggart comes to mind as does Tammy Fae Baker and Her exhusband Jim.

You dont' know what a good many of those real ministries do with all that money that comes into their church. But God does and He will deal with everyone who uses His name for personal gain.

You demonstrate hypocracy with your judgemental post of people you don't even know. And just so you know... a person is allowed to remarry if they were divorced only if they were a victim of their former spouce's infidelity against them. Then the themselves are free to remarry, but the adulterous exspouce is not.

Matthew 19:9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

The only way a divorced spouce and remarry and not be guilty of adultery is if their spouce commited adultery againts them.

It doesnt matter what the ratio is of divorce in this country because you will be held accountable for your own life and the choices you made with it and no one else's. Judgement belongs to God and He will do His job alone without your help.

Try reading the bible and asking God to open it up to you as to what He actually saying to you instead of you misintrepreting it the way you just did.

I agree totaly!!!
Most christians only look for what they want to see.

Most assume to much like the trinity.
some need to think what is right a bit harder eg (Gen 1:26) Man was made in the angels image.
H430
אלהים
'ĕlôhîym
el-o-heem'
Plural of H433; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative: - angels, X exceeding, God (gods) (-dess, -ly), X (very) great, judges, X mighty.
that is why there is more than one.

Now lets get to John 1:1-3
1. Christ was not literally the Word. He was the word "made flesh". (vs 14). The greek word "logos" translated "Word" expresses the divine intention, mind, or purpose. (ref 3). Young defines "logos" as "a word, speech, matter, reason."(ref 4). In the KJV "logos" is translated by more than 20 different English words and is used for utterance of men (eg Jn 17:20) as well as those of God (Jn 5:38).
2. "In the beginning was the Word.... all things were made by him." "Logos does not in itself denote personality. It is personified by the masculine gender in the KJV., The Diaglott avoids confusion by translating the pronouns in the neuter-"through it every thing was done"(ref 5). An Old Testament parallel to the personification of logos is the personacation of wisdom: "The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before hid work of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning , or ever the earth was." (Prov 8 :22,23). In this passage< wisdom is personified as a woman. (vs 1,2)
3. "All things were made by him"- John is apparently alluding to the creation recorded in Genesis. God spoke, and it was done (eg "And God said, Let there be light: and their was light." Gen 1:3. Notice another allusion- John 1:7,8). But this creation was not accompanied by Christ, but by the "logos" of God. This is indicated by several passages:
a) "By the word of the LORD we the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth." For he spake , and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast." (Psa. 33:6,9). see also Psa 107:20; 147: 15,18,19; Isa 55:11.
b) ". . . by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water. . . But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men." (2 Pet3: 5,7).
c) see also Heb 11: 3 cf Jer 10: 12,13
4. Angels prophets and Christ have been vehicles by which God has expressed his logos. Christ is the complete manifestation of the logos- "in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily." (Col 2: 9). It was the "logos" which was in the beginning with God, not Christ. When the "word was made flesh" (Jn 1: 14) then, and then only, Christ became the "Word". Christ is called the Word (Rev 19:13 cf 1 Jn 1:1; Lk 1:2) since his doctrine and words cam from his Father (Jn 7:16; 17:14). He was the logos lived out in speech and action, not merely written on scrolls.

John 5:22 really shows nothing of the trinity, all it shows is that Christ Does the will of his Father just as the elohim do.

all these bits are used to prove the trinity so people go with the first thing they are tought.

This is just some of the information that shows the trinity is not what you think

Well, unfortunately, a lot of people call themselves Christians but don't act Christian-like. The bible tells us that many will be called, but few will enter.

If you look at it another way, many people consider themselves to be law-abiding citizens but break at least one law. Not paying parking tickets, parking in a no-parking zone, drinking before you are 21-all of these are laws that are broken, but I'll bet that most people don't worry about breaking them.

You can not generalize Christians...there are some of us who actually try as hard as we can to do what is right. We will all find out how well we did in the end.

sorry friend, money is not evil but the love of money, money above god, only god knows the heart of a man, there is nothing wrong with a christian having money if he is using it for gods purpose, god blessed solomon with many riches. it is the matter of the heart concerning the money and god will judge that. as far as the marriage issue, sad but true, many people are not following the scriptures on that , but once again you can classify them all for what some may do. the point is that the bible teaches these things, you are looking at men who will let you down and not gods teaching and jesus which is true. that is why jesus christ died for us because we are rotten sinners and need a savior, wont you accept christ today friend he died for you and for me.

The bible tells us that there are no sinless people, not even one. All are born into sin and all deserve to die a sinners death. But God, in his infinate love for mankind, gave us an intercessor through his son Jesus, who speaks for us, reminding God we are his children, so that even when we do sin, and we will, we are covered by his blood and our sins are swept away. All we have to do is...

1. Acknowledge we are sinners, and can not save ourselves.
2. Believe Jesus came to save us from our sins.
3. Ask Jesus to come into our hearts, and be our savior.

If you do this, and truely believe, you will be saved.

We Christians are not perfect, but we try to be more Christ-like every day.

Some people believe that God is rational. Therefore, God must ask us to do what is rational. Also Human affairs and problems in general are far more complex than to be solved by one book. Moreover, this book - the bible - is not reliable itself. Thus one has to use his mind to figure out what God wants us to do. So when one someone asks about following the bible, those people who believe that God is rational, use rational thinking to pick and choose what they should do.
