Q: How do I get into the UFC?
A: Fighting in the UFC requires years of training and fighting experience. If you think you've got what it takes, send a VIDEO TAPE of your fights, and a short bio to:
UFC Fighter Info

Q: How old do you have to be to fight?
A: The sanctioning bodies require that a professional mixed martial arts fighter be at least 18 years of age.

I'm assuming since he wants to be in UFC he's already trained in some kind of Martial Art, so he would have to enter different local MMA bouts and tournaments, this is to get him expierenced in real MMA bouts. If he really wants do it, i'm sure he can. Good Luck :)

Everyone wants to have a million dollars as well but you have to do something to get it. First off it takes a lot of hard work and dedication, training and of course money. Tell your son if he wants to be good he should do a few things. first off hard intense physical training in various martial arts (BJJ, Wrestling, Boxing, KickBoxing). Second he needs to start thinking about his diet and proper nutrition. Then of course after hard training you need plenty of rest and relaxation so no partying for him. The if he is really serious he needs to think is he really that good, could he make it? Or is it just something he wants to do because he thinks it would be cool and not considering how hard and how much hard work it really is to become a serious compeititor. If he is not willing to put in the many hours. Also you never let us know the age of your son. that is a factor as well,, How long he has been training, what martial arts he practices right now? If he hasn't even started training yet then he has a long way to go.

well first of all, hes gonna have to be affiliated with an MMA gym, and he's gonna need to build up some kind of fight record (in sanctioned fights of course, otherwise they might not consider him) if he hopes to make any impression on these guys that run the feeder leagues that draw new competitiors.

He's gonna have to take some time (at least a year or two to train and become proficient enough for long matches that may last for 3 minutes or more) to build up his physicality and fighting ability, I'd say around a minimum of 2 to 3 years.

another good idea is to film some of his training or fights that he's competed in as added proof of his fight record. and submit a copy to these guys that run the feeder leagues, particularly videos of him in the sanctioned fights.

the main thing to do is make sure he's at least 18 years old first, and then and only then will he be able to compete in a SANCTIONED fight organization.

Most big cities have a sport fighting organization. I would start there. Find out what schools participate in those fights. Find out who the coaches are and talk to them. Being a professional fighter is just that. It's a profession. It isn't something you can do in your spare time. You and your son have to be prepared to spend all your time on money on training. I'm not saying he shouldn't go for it, just that fighting at the level of the UFC isn't like going to a local tournament on weekends.

Hold up, the UFC is'nt something you can just jump into because you want to. It's the top, it takes a good part of a life to attain the training and attributes to fight in the cage. First, you have to get your son the right schooling, like boxing, muay thai, jui jitsu, grappling, all of them, and if he excels in these areas he can test his skills in tournaments. and if he does good in these then maybe he will get invited to bigger shows. If he has good sensei's they will let him know if he is or ever can be a serious fighter.

in a way, it depends on the age of your son. If he is in high school or younger, than I would suggest getting in a boxing or wrestling program at the YMCA or with his school. If he can excel in just one of those subjects than he can be a powerful fighter. As he goes down the road, the other skills like jujitsu or kick-boxing will fall into place because many of these different fighting styles have things in common with each other. Lifting weights and a lot of conditioning is a good thing to encourage too if you think its just a phase that will blow over because these things will benefit him in anything that he attempts.

first, get him some tattoos, grow a goatee. second, get some board shorts and a TapOut t-shirt. Buy some bjj/muay thai dvd's and he'll be ready in 3 months.

everyone thinks they can fight because of the ultimate fighter show. heres what you do, hit your kid in the mouth and see if he can even take a punch, but hit him good right in the jaw. if he goes down forget it, and you'll need a ton of cash for the years of training and equipment, plus someone will have to support him cause training will have to be his full time job.
