your little sweetie will be the same as she is now. but being fixed, she may get a little weight but do not worry about that because as long as you exercise her and she keep being frisky, then she will not get fat, and having her fixed will help from getting some cancers and her other life span will be longer with proper care. like diet and vet checks and lots of love. and l can tell you love her.so put your worries on the shelf and forget about it.

It usually doesn't affect personality that much.
But even if she's not quite as energetic (and her energy level will naturally drop as she becomes an adult), the benefits of spaying far exceed the personality/activity level changes.
Walk those little doggie legs, play with her, and don't let her beg for food. I have an exquisite Dalmatian who never got even a little fat after being spayed, but I have a cat who got fat after she became an inside cat (she used to be able to go outside and run around all day, but my mom made me take her to my apartment because she was living with them and the cat was pooping in the neighbor's flowerbed. And the neighbor, for some reason, despised it.) I try to walk the cat...what a pain.

Spaying does NOT change personality....personality is what it is from birth...nothing changes taht!!!
The only way she'll get fat is if you feed her to much ..spay has nothing to do with it..calories do. Usually when a dog gets spayed it is around the time growth slows and a dog no longer needs to consume as much food, but owners continue ot feed the same amounts and then wonder why the dog gains weight.
She also won't become lazy unless you let her and again it will have nothing to do with spaying.

Sometimes getting spayed or neutered will have an affect on an animal; temporarily. I think you have nothing to worry about. As for the "fat and lazy" part (=]) I think with proper diet and exercise, as I'm sure you're giving her (because you went out of your way to take her to the veterinarian in the first place) then I am quite sure she'll pull through just fine, still the hyperactive little pooch you had before she went "under the knife" ^_^ Good Luck

I have four dogs, three of which have been neutered. They're all very, very energetic and haven't changed much since the procedure.
Before they were neutered they used to find ways out of the garden (which is huge - 6 acres) by digging holes and eating the bricks out of the wall just to meet up with the other village dogs which was really worrying because most village dogs in Bali are so sick. Now they're happy to play amongst themselves at home.
They're still as vivacious as they were before, only now they're home doggies and no longer feel the urge to answer the 'call of the wild'...

Her personality will not change and she will not become fat and lazy UNLESS you over feed her.
After surgery, you can feed her adult food, she no longer needs the puppy food. Feed the amount recommended by the company, continue to exercise her and she will do just fine.
Congrats on the right decision to spay! Koodo's to you!

All dogs/animals react to being spayed or neutered differently. I can honestly say that only on of mine (out of all) really changed their habits/personality after. Generally the spunky ones tend to keep their personalities for some reason, but that's just in my experience.
She'll be okay, don't worry. :)

Haha, don't worry. My springer spaniel was CrAZy before being spayed and is still CRaZy five years later!!! I'm sure she'll be a little depressed and lazy for a few days, but after that she'll push herself to be as wild as she was before!

I thought the same thing when it happened to my dog, but they get over it in a matter of days, then they go back to normal. Don't worry, she'll still be energetic and sassy.

well if they are that young, i don't beleive that they will get fat and lazy. but the first day it gets fixed, you need to let it rest so it will not be all excited. after a few days, you can play with your pet and then it will still be very active :D just give them a lot of attention!
