I tried pixia for awhile, can't figure it. Can't find instructions on what to do first to get things going.

Corel Draw has an excellent tutorial.

I would recommend Illustrator by Adobe but other companies make similar products. Adobe makes excellent instruction books with which you work through projects which teach you all the basics, including how art for magazines, labels, tee shirts, etc. should be done.

I have used these books for Photoshop, Illustrator and Premier and have enjoyed the process. I also love Macromedia programs and books for similar reasons so you could use Free Hand if they still call it by that name.

I just prefer Photoshop and Illustrator because Photoshop by Adobe is by far the greatest paint program.

The difference between a drawing and a paint and photo program is another question.
