It's suppose to be a service whereby you pay to have a woman to accompany you to functions like parties or out to dinner, etc., but I have heard that a lot of those escort services are just covers for prostitution.

My advice to you. Stay away from escort services.

If you want to find a date, do it the old fashion way. Just ask a nice girl that you think you might want to go out with.

Escort services supply EYE CANDY or as some call them ARM CHARMS. It is mostly for people to old, ugly or that have no game and can't get a person to be seen with. More than just a sexual thing, many people want to show off some young thing hanging onto their old weathered body just to in their minds impress other people. Women are in the shopping market just like men. Hey! This is an equal opportunity event.

I never had a problem in attracting some EYE CANDY myself. No matter. I would not pay the high prices real elite services probably charge.

I would drop a good amount of money on a date for a nicenight out but not into straight out buying shall I say FAVORS.

As you see by the other answers there are varying ideas for the definition of escort service. It's kind of like most other things. Reputable ones provide an escort to social functions. That means you get to be seen with someone, but you are paying them and you don't have a real relationship.
Ones that aren't so reputable offer a full range of 'services'.

I own a escort service that provides escorts for trucks hauling oversize loads such as manufactured houses etc.

I usually drive a escort car in front of or behind a oversize load as a pre-warning of the trucks presence and act as the truck drivers rear view mirror or relay information of hazards ahead such as vehicles on the shoulder or low overhead clearances.

Exactly, they will act as your girlfriend. You can take them for dinner or wherever you want. They are friendly by nature and you will feel comfortable with them. There are many escorts agencies who offers beautiful models for fun and entertainment.

something like that. Initially set up for those single buffs that had to go to "couples only" functions. But it has degenerated down to hookers.

You pay a woman to hang out with you, and usually it includes sex/etc. (although you are NOT paying for the sex, you're paying for the company. she has sex with you if she wants, so it's not prostitution)
