Long small diameter primary pipes with small collectors helps the low end RPM of the motors. Shorties are for screaming high rpm. If your making a street runner I'd suggest the small primaries with long even length primary tubes with small collectors since you hopping up a 302.

Equal length sorties = 12 H.P
Unequal shorties = 10 h.p
Long Tubes are for when you get way up in the power band, and the shorty's sign off, if you have shorty headers on a heavily worked motor, you will lose H.P.

I'd get a set of equal length headers. You get the best of both worlds.
