My "pooch" is a large German shepherd, and her "pooched" eggs had better be cooked, she says! :-)

Seriously, your recipe for poached eggs is right on, and the eggs will be cooked perfectly. You can add a little salt and vinegar to the water, if you'd like. It helps the egg whites to firm up quicker.

yes let the water boil with a drop of vinegar in the water cause this will stop the egg from breaking up & will keep it presentable. Before you put the water in stir the water & crack the egg in it while the water is swirlling as this will also keep the white in a circle.

Not really necessary to cover the water just wait a minute or two then scoop out with a laddle that has the holes on the bottom.

Enyoy with bacon & muffins.

Poached Eggs

4 large eggs

1. Fill a medium bowl with iced water; set aside. Fill a large wide saucepan with about 4 inches of water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium, so water is barely simmering. Break 1 egg at a time into a small heatproof bowl. Gently tip bowl into water, letting egg slide into the water. Using a spoon, cover yolk with some of the egg white; repeat with remaining 3 eggs. When eggs begin to become opaque, carefully transfer eggs using a slotted spoon to iced water to stop cooking. Trim edges with a small knife or scissors to create a uniform shape.

I don't know about "pooched" eggs, but POACHED eggs are. They cook the yolk and the whites. Great with some hollaindaise sauce!! Yum yum!
