Actually I have been told that it is good to take Tylenol and then at the next dosage time take Ibuprofen and so on. It is better for pain management because ones body can build up tolerance to med's. I have done it many times safely.

If you have medical conditions such as high blood pressure, glaucoma, or an enlarged prostate, you may need to avoid antihistamines and decongestants. Read product labels carefully and talk to your pharmacist if you have any questions.

Take the ibuprofen because it reduces inflammation and helps with pain. Acetaminophen is a fever reducer and for pain. If your pain is so strong you think you need to take both medications go to an ER or see your doctor.
In children with high fevers ibuprofen and acetaminophen can be alternated. Dosed according to weight and/or age.
In Adults Never to take over 4000mg of acetaminophen in 24hr this can cause lethal kidney damage.RN

Ibuprofen is the generic name for Motrin. It is an anti inflammatory drug. It usually takes a few minutes longer to build up in your blood but can last up eight hours in your system. Tylenol is a simple pain medication. Tylenol tricks the brain in thinking that you have no pain. It does by sending out chemicals to the brain. Though Tylenol has many uses many people complain that it doesn't help headaches..Nursing Degree

Yes... taking both at the same time is fine. Motrin is excreted by the kidney's and Tylenol by the liver. Morin can be given every 6 hours and Tylenol every 4.

Within reasonable doses that should be ok as long as you don't have any liver problems etc. Check with your doctor if in doubt, and don't exceed recommended doses, as too much acetaminophen is known to cause liver damage.

Within reasonable dosage and in an otherwise healthy individual, this is safe. It may not be much more effective, but I have tried it.

I have had a doctor tell me this is okay, but I would check with your doctor first to make sure you don't have any problems that either of the meds could complicate (liver or kidney problems, etc.)

Yes, but DO NOT exceed the recommended dosage or increase the time parameters of these two medications.

Ibuprofen is both an anti-inflammatory and pain reliever.
