Don't know for sure what you mean - Lets try the word parts: Gastro means stomach, itis means inflammation.
Gastritis should be a temporary thing. Does your doctor know it's lasted five years? Could it be an ulcer (sore) in the lining of the stomach, or a problem with gluten (flour) that can't be digested (Crohn's disease)? Many ulcers now are cured by certain antibiotics used together, and Crohn's can be controlled by learning about gluten intolerance suffered by many people. Google gluten and see if that describes your symptoms. Be sure to let your doctor know that this is a real problem so he'll look further and try different treatment. Good luck!
