Its been there for a while but its really bothering me now. it doesn't hurt. Is there a lotion to cure this? Has anyone else experinced this?

Me too actually... it's right on the nape of my neck, and it gets red sometimes. I used Eucerin lotion for about a week on it and it went away after that.

Kinda weird though.. why just that patch of skin would get dry and scaly like that.

It could very well be seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff) which can be controlled with a dandruff shampoo. A coal tar shampoo such as Neutrogena T/Gel is very effective. This dry, flaky condition can get into ears, also and cause what they call "swimmer's ear" and the itching drives you crazy. A coal tar shampoo will help clear it up.

it could any number of skin conditions ( psoriasis, eczema, etc) best bet is to go see a doc
