It is normal, I have a 21 year old but he is full time student and cannot afford to leave for another 3 years but he wants to go. It's a money thing. There are some worrying signs for the guy. He is likely to be lazy and will expect any girl friend or wife to take over from his mother. I don't think he is a good prospect at the moment and he needs to get out and do something.

Old school is not moving out when you get married. Old school is moving out when you are 18. If you are not taking care of things yourself, you are still a child. If you want to get on with your life, move out and live by yourself. Or stay at home and be happy that way, but then, why bother getting married, and who would have you, and why? Seems like you have some arrested development going on. I have trouble understanding why parents do this to their kids these days. Hope it works out.

It is not unusual for him to live at his parents but it is for him to not have a job. Maybe you could talk to him and tell him he should get out and get a job and see how the rest of the world lives, Naturally if his parents are supporting him and doing everything for him then why get out in the world. It sounds like his parents don`t want their little boy to grow up. Try your best to get him out and least get a job.

normal to be living at home
not normal to have mom doing everything for him, or not having a job, or not going to school while living at home. He's in for a reality shock when he gets out in the real world.

Often times people live with their parents a bit longer. It is important he has plans for a future. He won't always be able to live with his parents. Although I know a man who is 49 and stll lives at home. He does have a job, just not much of a social life. It is all personal preference.

If he was in school or had a job I would think it would be okay. But as far as living with his parents just so he does not have any responsibilities is never going to help him. I think his parents have a real issue to because they are enabling him.

That is very normal. 22 isn't old to be living with your parents. You say he doens't have a job, so he's not financially able to support himselft. But he should go looking for that or at least to go to school.

As long as his mom does everything for him, he has no incentive to do anything. I left home when I was 22 because I wanted my own life and my own place, He obviously doesn't. It is more and more common these days that kids are staying at home for longer than I feel they should. That's just my opinion.

If he's a momma's boy and doesn't have a job or pay for anything...then yep, he's a spoiled brat who doesn't know anything about the real world! That doesn't mean you can't be his friend, but just make sure you NEVER get romantically involved with a guy like that!
