Being a former chef and a rice cooker owner, it is 2 to 1, 2 parts water and 1 part rice, you can use regular, basmati, short grain, chinese style and brown rice.

The mechinisim is controlled by the weight, under the cooking vessel is a spring loaded puck as the rice cooks and absorbs the water it gets lighter, and as a result as it hits certain time in the cooking process it switches off and remains on warm until you unplug the unit.

You can cook soups, other grains like barley, faroe, quinoa and even beans, there again as the they cook it will shutdown after they loose there weight in simmering. I make alot of things including veggies and other dried foods, rice pudding is perfect done in the rice cooker, just mix in the sugar, rice, milk, and raisins, set it and it will cook while your out, I generally add extra milk or if you don't then after it is finished adding Carnation milk is better.

Go to http://www.aroma-housewares.com/kitchen/appliances/product-manuals.html and download your product manual.
I couldn't find your model # so you'll have to find a similar product.

Meanwhile, you can try this already:
Count the number of LEVEL cups of rice you are pouring into your rice cooker then fill water to the equivalent number level located inside the pan. This is a guide that will give you an idea of water level for the first time.

As you cook rice, you will learn your preferences: whether you want it on the dry side (lower water level) or stickier/mushier (more water). Simply add water to a level slightly above or below the line until you cook the perfect pot of rice for you!

Note: putting too little water will produce rice that is uncooked in the middle.

Put the inner pan onto the heating base. Cover it then press down "cook". It will turn itself off when the rice is done and will stay on "warm" for as long as it is plugged.

Great types of rice to try are jasmine and texmati.

Enjoy!

All rice cookers work the same. Use the included to cup to measure a cup. Then you want to rinse your rice in water about three times until it's almost clear. Then put the rice in the holder and put water until it reaches the number 1. Basically the ratio of rice to water is 1. So if you put 2 cups, you put the water level to 2.
If you want to make sticker rice (like Japanese) you should increase the amount of water.

Follow the instructions that come with your rice cooker. For most cookers, combine 1-1/2 to 2 cups of liquid with 1 cup of rice. The smaller amount is for separate, drier grains of rice. The larger amount results in rice that is stickier. Most rice cookers can keep the cooked rice warm for hours without burning.... have a nice cooking
