i want to know what Velasquez means and I also want to know if theres any chance If my ancestors were given this name.

Velasquez comes from the medieval name Velasco, which stemmed from the Basque word for "crow." Many Mexicans, Cubans, Puerto Ricans and other Central Americans are descended from Spaniards who had that name, also U.S. people from New Mexico, etc.

If Velasquez is your surnname, of course some of your paternal ancestors bore that name. As far as the meaning, it isn't a Spanish word, it's just a name. Just as some English names don't have meanings -
