My little one just vomited for the first time. He spend a lot of the day fussy and sleeping and just vomited after dinner.
How do you handle this besides obviously calling the pediatricians nurse line in the morning if he does it again.
Can you give them something to help their stomach?

Do NOT give your child any medicines for diarrhea and vomiting without first checking with your doctor.
You can give the child an oral rehydration solution that you can buy at a drug, grocery, or discount store without a prescription. It has the right amounts of water, salts, and sugar to replace the lost water.
Call Your Doctor If...
* Your child has a high temperature.
* Diarrhea or vomiting lasts more than 24 hours.
* You have any questions about feeding the child.
Seek Care Immediately If...
* The child's diarrhea or vomiting gets worse, there is blood in the diarrhea, or the vomit is bloody or green.
* The child is not drinking enough fluids and has signs of water loss: sunken eyes, less urination, no tears when crying, dry mouth, unusual sleepiness or fussiness, extreme thirst.
* The child has not urinated in quite a few hours.
* A high temperature continues to climb.

The biggest concern is dehydration. I like ginger ale, but you can send someone to the store to get Pedialyte (sp). A P.S.: Keep a little bowl or small wastebasket near him, so if he starts again you don't have to be so concerned about making it to the bathroom or messing the bedding, etc. Yes, I think it a good idea to keep him near until this passes. I wouldn't try to stop the vomiting. If it gets really bad, then you better call the doc or go to the ER.

Room temperature Sprite or GingerAle. Also, Crackers or dry Cheerios are easy on the stomach.

Try giving your 1 year old a a small cup of 7up and salt it actually works! You add salt to the drink and stir it up! I do it when i baby sit my nieces and nephews when they are vomiting. Then head to the store and buy some pedalite.
Hope this helps. Good luck!

Is the same drug available in a different brand name? My kids always threw up the most popular brand of pain relief over here ("Calpol") but it was nothing to do with the medicine, it was the slimy artificial pink raspberry taste. They were just fine with the chemists' own brand of the same active ingredient, which was much less thick and slimy, less sweet, and tasted of banana rather than raspberry. And you are giving her an age appropriate one, right?

pedialyte helps to rehydrate them as vomiting can remove necessary fluids from their system. if he can keep liquids down but not foods that is what i would recommend, check to see if he has a fever, if he cannot even keep fluids down i would call the pediatrician tonight and not wait until morning. my son had this a few months ago but was able to keep liquids down so the pedialyte did help and he was ok after 24 hours
good luck

absolutely ginger ale and see if he'll go to sleep. If he starts to get an appetite back, only give him crackers or dry toast with nothing on it! Good luck!

No., vomiting is normal when your baby has indigestion or gassy stomach. Well sometimes vomiting is good when is your baby congested, that is the time all mucus/plegm comes out.
If its only once that will be ok., but if vomiting continues like color orange or just saliva coming from acid stomach. Bring him to the doctor give pedialyte or gatorade.

Don't give him any milk for starters. Hold off on giving too much fluid at first. You'll want to sit with him and have a trash can handy. Hopefully, he won't need to do it again.
Pedialite is the best drink for kids when they're sick.
