If you know the parents well enough and are confident that he will be safe then it may be okay. He also needs to be articulate enough to tell you what goes on...and you should ask him questions about the playdate as well as what the adults were doing during the playdate.

I'd only do it if you are really close to the parents. I used to leave my oldest at that age but the two different families I left him with were really good friends of mine. Then one time he freaked out because of something that happened with one of the dads. I have no idea what happened. So, I only left him with my friend if her husband wasn't there. I no longer trusted him. If I don't know the family that well then I stay and chat with the parents while the kids play.

Well i have a 4 year old and if it ever occurred i don't think i would have a problem with it i mean their 5 years old and also make sure you know their parents really good because now days you cant even trust your family and good friends with all these things going on in the news its cazy ! but goodluck'

That's called "babysitting." It depends on how well you trust the other parent, not on your child's age.
